My first job out of college was building an online education platform for a start-up company. I’ve been working with entrepreneurs and business owners for my entire career. I started Reality66, my web development business in 2002 where I built web applications for the United States government, medical practices, and developed several ecommerce platforms.
The Key To Success
Having worked with start up companies and business owners launching new products for my entire career, the one thing I noticed that almost everyone (including myself) got wrong was starting with the product first rather than starting with the audience. The key to success is starting with the audience first.
I Own Multiple Businesses
I am current the founder and owner of three businesses:
- Cart66 – The ecommerce platform for WordPress
- Mijireh Checkout – Secure hosted payment platform
- Reality66 – My web development company
I really enjoy all three of my current businesses because I get to meet and interact with business owners and entrepreneurs. Reality66 was my first business that I started in 2002. When Reality66 first started, it was primarily a web development consulting firm. At first, we were the web development branch for several design and marketing agencies. After building dozens of corporate websites, we began to get into ecommerce. The first business I ever sold was a website I built to sell noise reduction headphones.
Why Did I Develop ThoughtPress?
All three businesses I am currently running attract entrepreneurs and business owners. I have personally worked with hundreds of people starting online ventures and launching new products. I see great ideas come and go because they fail to realize the importance of the audience first business model. This is why I have decided to start offering private coaching.
The audience first business model is the lowest risk, highest reward, fastest way to start and grow a business. Very few business owners have even considered this approach and the ones that have often don’t have the technical knowledge to pull it all together. There are a lot of moving parts. But, when assembled properly, you have a powerful platform to launch a wildly successful business.
