In this presentation, we take a different approach to social media and how to use your online properties to build your business. We’ll talk about why you should put your faith in social media platforms as a tool for reaching your audience. We’ll talk about a safer and more profitable way to use social media to drive traffic to your website for the purpose of building your email list. If you rely on Twitter, Facebook, or some other social media platform to reach your audience, a change in their ranking algorithm can hide you from your own audience. With email, you own the relationships with your audience.
This is my presentation at WooConf, the official ecommerce conference for WooCommerce – the largest ecommerce platform in the world. In this presentation, I briefly define PCI compliance in the context of selling products with WordPress. Then I iterate over the four most common ways people try to secure their online payments. We’ll take a look at how secure each approach is and what the implications are for you, as a business owner, when it comes to establishing a safe and secure ecommerce site.
At WordCamp Raleigh 2015 I had the opportunity to talk about the lessons learned from running multiple online businesses – both from a technical and a marketing perspective. This presentation covers branding, copy writing, and content organization. I also go over some of the tools we’ve been using to run our business and marketing campaigns. Some of the lessons came easy, while other I had to learn the hard way. Join me as I share the lessons I which I had learned earlier in this presentation from WordCamp Raleigh 2015.
